컬리지역에 법원이 있다는 사실 알고계셨나요? 거기다 그 건물 1층은 푸드코트, 2층은 winners가 있답니다. 통번역반에서 법정통역도 배우는데요. 현장체험을 위해 법원에 직접갔습니다.

저희뿐만 아니라 캐나다에 있으신 모든 분들이 참여가능해요. 실제로 법학과 학생들도 많이 온다고 하더라고요. 컬리지역 위너스건물 3층에 와서 간단한 공항검사같은 걸 하면 바로 들어갈 수있어요.

그리고 법정에는 언제나 들어갈 수있는데요. 다만 들어가고 나올 때 판사를 향해 인사만 하고 나오면 된답니다.

분위기는 캐나다의 어느곳보다 경직되고, 삼엄했어요. 죄짓지 말아야 하겠다, 조심히 한국에 돌아가야겠다는 생각 많이했어요.
예상대로 재판에 들어갔는데, 배운것보다 훨씬 안들렸고..

다만 단어배운것들이 있어서 어떤 이야기인지는 조금씩 알아들었어요. 실제 법정안에서 법정인터프리터가 등장했는데, 굉장히 프로페셔널한 모습이 인상적이었습니다.

단순히 관광만 하지말고, 법정에 가서 이 나라의 문화를 느껴보시는 것도 색다른 경험이 되실거같아요. 재판도 문화의 하나니까요.
