Tostado is Santander's delicacy. It is a sweet toasted biscuit, hence the name tostado or "toasted".

The Tostado Festival highlights the local delicacy while also showcasing the culture of the people in Santander. Moreover,

the local government uses the event as a venue for promoting the tostado industry.

Santander is a 5th class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2007 census, it has a population

of 15,294 people.

Santander is the southernmost municipality of Cebu. It is the location of a sea ports that connect to Negros Oriental. Fast craft

boats ferry passengers to Sibulan, Negros Oriental with trips taking 20 minutes. Roll-on roll-off barges travel to Amlan,

Negros Oriental with trips taking 1 hour. It is known for its Tostados Festival.

The town was established in 1867; the parish, in 1897. The church was the work of Fr. Mauricio Alvarez, who was also

credited for building the cemetery and convent, a bridge, two schools, and the tribunal.

Tostado Festival

Tostado is the towns own delicacy. Tostado festival celebration not only manifests the peoples unique identity but also

propels culture and tradition in the locality.

Santander is located on the southern most tip of Cebu. It's a quiet, laidback town blessed with several natural wonders,

white-sandy shores, and warm, hospitable people. The town is a three-hour ride from the City but then I always love long

road trips because I get to see the beauty of nature along the road - rice fields, old houses, century-old Acacia trees, and

the greeneries in general.

Tostado is a local delicacy in the town. It's a home-baked cookie with delicious taste and the procedures and secret

ingredients in making a really delicious tostado have been handed down from generations to generations.

Tostado festival gives honor to the delicacy that have made Santander popular. Of course, there are a lot of things that can

be attributed to Santander, but when you mention the town anywhere you go, people will remember the Tostado.
