The romantic comedy movie is based on the best-selling

 book Diary ng Panget, which debuted online on Wattpad  by

 author HaveYouSeenThisGirL and later on published and

distributed by Viva-PSICOM Publishing Corp.

It all started with a book that became an online phenomenon

and whose film adaptation captures the very essence

 of being teenagers in this age and time.

Diary ng Panget follows the love story of  Reah “Eya” Rodriguez

 who describes herself as an ugly person,

falling in-love with Cross Sandford, a handsome,

rich and snobbish teenager.

The story is an interesting read. "Diary ng Panget"

was about an ugly girl (but she's not really ugly,

she just degrades herself into being one)

who defines herself as a girl with so many pimples,

with frizzy hair and broad forehead.

She is also a poor girl who studies on a prestigious

school by being a scholar. 

 The people in her school was unfriendly to her because of her "ugly"

 features which is not really true. This "ugly" lady found a handsome man

 who became her friend and she also met Cross Sandford,

the most irritating person in the world, which will became her young master.

Happily, a new set of young actors is embracing this challenge

in the same way Aga  and company did when “Bagets,”

 that Maryo J. Delos Reyes-directed classic,

was released in the ‘80s.
