PADUL-ONG FESTIVAL 
(Borongan,Eastern Samar)

A mythical presentation of how the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary was mysteriously transported to Borongan from Portugal and its connection to the Lady in White who frequented the Hamorawon Spring and caused its water to miraculously heal the locals.  The festival is held in line with the celebration of the Fiesta of Borongan City.  Other socio-cultural activities are likewise held during the week.
 



This video features the "Magkasi-kasi" (ESNCHS) group of Borongan City, Eastern Samar, Philippines.. They placed third during the Rayhak Sinirangan Festival of Festivals, one of the highlights of the 46th anniversary celebration of the province of Eastern Samar last Nov. 9, 20   


MEET THE CHAMPIONS

      

        

Last September 7, 2014, The Padul-ong festival was held at the Borongan Plaza. Magkasi-kasi is a group of dancers, props men and artists from Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School (ESNCHS) who won last year's Padul-ong Festival. This year, they proved again to the judges and the people of Eastern Samar that they are the ones who deserve the trophy of being the grand champion and also deserving to to be the best in musicality and best in choreography.
